Established in March of 1919 by William H Brewster Jr., the Brewster company has been family owned and now women owned/operated ever since. We strive to continue our legacy of over 101 years of service and success in the manufacturing of precision round washers and shims.
We hold tight tolerances (+/-.0005) to satisfy the high requirements demanded by our major aerospace companies we provide for. We are AS9100:2016 CERTIFIED.

How long have you been in business?
We are 4th generation Woman owned, Small Business, of precision round flat washer, spacers, discs, shims and precision parts manufacturer. We use only American made metals in our products and we are ISO9001:2008 Certified. We have been in business since 1919, 102+ years & counting. We serve the Aerospace, Defense, computer, medical, dental and automotive industries to mention a few. We are a qualified vendor to most and our parts are dock to stock qualified also. From the Apollo missions, to Space Shuttles to the Mars Lunar rover, our part quality is out of this world, literally.
What is your primary product or service?
Our primary product is highly precision round flat washers, shims and discs. We have expand our product line to producing a variety if shapes and products from our new Wire EDM machine. We specialize in the thinner thicknesses all the way down to 0.0005 thick, yes thinner than foil.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was able to work at Brewster Washers from when I was in high school on my days off and summers. My dad worked for Brewster Washers and retired in 2012 after 56 years. In high school learned the tool and die trade, a lost art form. Then I eventually learn all the aspects of the business and now I wear all the hats to run it. I have a competent team that keeps everything running well oiled in our shop. All American Materials and workers.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our deliveries are 100% on time and our quality is also 100% zero defects, zero rejections. We are ISO:9001:2008 certified. Plus,we pride ourselves on making a truly American made product from American made materials and with proud American employees.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We only have one location in Fairfield NJ since 1958, previously located in Newark on Marshall Street. We are looking to expand right here in Fairfield.
