Anxiety Disorder Specialist: Adults, adolescents & children
As a Board Certified Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience, I understand that taking the first step towards counseling can be challenging. I provide a safe, comfortable environment that fosters open communication and trust, the cornerstones of working toward meaningful change, whether you're dealing with significant anxiety or depression, or looking to improve your relationships. My approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness skills and family systems, providing you, your child or family with lasting tools to manage the challenges of everyday life. Our work together will help you function at your best socially, academically & professionally.
Throughout my years of practice I've acquired extensive training & experience treating children & adults affected by anxiety-based disorders, including panic disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias, OCD and PTSD. I address these & other issues such as depression and chronic worry, with an eclectic approach, utilizing cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic techniques.
I also understand the impact of childhood and adolescent struggles on self-esteem. Working with young people, I focus on improving communication within the family, building peer relationships and finding practical strategies to increase confidence and maximize social and academic success. Older adults are also welcomed in the practice.
I am also an Approved Clinical Supervisor and provide private supervision for those working toward their LCSW.
